1. Background: Kathy Milisen was a highly active Assistant Scoutmaster for Troop 16, as well as an Order of the Arrow member. She loved scouting, the outdoors and camping. In her memory, a campership fund has been established which will fund fifty percent of a scout's fee to a leadership training camp.

2. Requirements: To be eligible for this campership, a scout must be at minimum a first class scout. The scout must exemplify the scouting ideals as described in the scout oath, law, motto and slogan.

3. Application: To apply for this campership, the scout must complete the application on the reverse side of this form. The application must be accompanied by:

a. Any form(s) required by the camp (see the Scoutmaster, Committee Chairman or Troop Summer Camp Director);

b. Payment for 50% of the camp fee, will be required per the announced summer camp signup schedule; and,

c. An essay (at least 100 words) on how the scout feels he fulfills the scouting ideals.

4. Application Process: The scout will give the completed application to the Scoutmaster by the date announced at a troop meeting. The Scoutmaster will initial and date the application, indicating that (a) the application is complete and (b) they concur the scout is eligible and meets the requirements.

5. Selection Process: After receipt of all applications, the Scoutmaster will consult with his assistant scoutmasters and nominate the scout(s) most deserving of the award. This/these selections) will then be forwarded to the Troop Committee for final confirmation. If approved, the Committee Treasurer will deposit the selectees' (50% of camp fee) check(s) into the troop account, make out a new check for the entire amount and forward the completed applications) to the appropriate scouting office. The Scoutmaster will announce the winner(s) of the campership at a troop meeting. The amount of camperships awarded each year may vary, depending on availability of funds in the Kathy Milisen Memorial account.

6. Non-Selection: Scouts who are not selected will have their application and camp fee payment returned to them.
