BLACK OXIDE COMPLETE FIREARM
..............................................................................................
$140 (*)
This is the best black oxide job on the market! Your parts are individually glass beaded and polished before being treated. While the beading and polishing isnt necessary before treating the parts, we find that doing so provides a uniform texture to the parts.
We ask that you please clean the firearm before shipping to us,
to avoid a cleaning charge. Upon receipt, we will first inspect the firearm
to ensure it arrived undamaged. We also inspect to ensure nothing's missing from the firearm. Then
we'll call you with our findings.
The following parts will be glass beaded:
barrel/receiver/sights assy, trigger frame, butt stock attaching screws, pistol grip attaching screw, foregrip attaching screw, sling swivels, sling swivel screws, butt plate, butt plate screws, ejector, pivot frame, safety selector, fire control lever, magazine catch, crossbolt assy.
These parts will be polished:
trigger and trigger internals, bolt, extractor, spring surface area of guide rod, receiver take-down pin
After the parts are treated, we will lightly coat them in oil, wrap and ship them to you via UPS.
(*) On crossbolt stocks, many times the threaded bolt has been staked to the washer. Breaking this stakemark without marring the washer is very, very difficult, if not impossible. The cross/washer assy is also often rusty. We can clean up this rust by hand and apply black oxide (i.e. "Tool Black") for an additional $15.
CUT FULL LENGTH EXTRACTOR GROOVE
.............................................................................. $140
This is often the most difficult task facing the Class II manufacturer. It requires a modified broach and custom bushing. We have both, and the experience to use them correctly.
See for yourself at our
TSMG Tools page.
(Note: This service is offered to Class II manufacturers and BATF approved semi-auto receiver designs. All
NFA rules apply.)
CUT DISPLAY LENGTH EXTRACTOR GROOVE
..............................
......................................... $170
This is more difficult than cutting the full length extractor slot
. In the full length slot, the broach makes a full cut through the receiver material
and exits into the bolt pocket, where it deposits the cut material. In a display length slot,
the broach cut stops at the face of the solid portion of the receiver (instead of continuing
through and into the receiver bolt pocket.) When the broach is stopped solid, the material
which it sliced off is held in place by a "hinge" of uncut material. This "hinge" must be
removed by hand, a time consuming effort.
COUNTERSINK RECEIVER BOLT HOLE
...................................
...................................................... $65
The receiver bolt hole must be clearanced for the radiused portion of the bolt shank to pass
through the hole.
If the hole isn't clearanced, the bolt will not be able to achieve battery.
See this process explained on our
TSMG Receiver Work page.
BARREL REMOVAL/REPLACEMENT
..................................................................
.................................. $95
TSMG barrel removal is affected by several factors.
First, if the gun has been refinished with the barrel in place, the refinishing chemicals will seep into
the barrel and receiver threads and oxidize in place. This oxidation can make barrel removal very difficult,
which in turn can add time to the removal process. Second, if the barrel has been in place for a good number
of years, then time and powder fouling can "set" the barrel and receiver threads together. This also can
make removal of the barrel difficult. he price of barrel replacement includes aligning and pinning the
front sight and front sight/compensator on '21 and '28 models.
