RECEIVER JIG AND BARREL WRENCH

Receiver jig (foreground) is used to leverage grip mount away from barrel, thus preventing mount from marring barrel during barrel installation. Fulcrum (semi-round "tower" on bottom rail of jig) provides leverage point. Horizontal slot on vertical tower (far right of jig, attached to jig bottom rail) holds tip of grip mount. Barrel wrench (background) surrounds barrel and has radiused slot cut (bottom of wrench, under barrel hole) to clear grip mount. Wrench supports 95% of barrel radius, providing more positive grip for final tightening of barrel.

RECEIVER IN JIG Receiver mounted in jig. The receiver is now ready for hand insertion of barrel. Forward end of grip mount held securely in slotted locator at front of jig. Receiver nose supports in full upright position. Leveraging screw at jig rear turned clockwise to move receiver rear end downward, thus leveraging grip mount away from yet to be inserted barrel. Rubber sleeves on receiver nose supports, fulcrum, grip mount locator, and between leveraging screw and top surface of receiver rear end. Paper between receiver nose and rubber covered jig nose supports, paper between rubber covered locator and tip of grip mount, paper between receiver and rubber covered fulcrum, and paper between leveraging screw and rubber covered receiver rear end.

GRIP MOUNT AWAY FROM BARREL

Picture clearly showing space provided between grip mount and barrel by receiver jig. Space can be adjusted by means of leveraging screw at rear of jig. Barrel will absolutely not be marred by the grip mount when installing barrel. This is ten times better than the old "slip a business card betweent the grip mount and barrel" routine!

RCVR JIG IN MACHINISTS VICE

The receiver jig, with TSMG receiver and barrel (hand tightened thus far) in place, positioned in machinist's vice. Vice jaws tightened against jigs' rubber covered "receiver nose uprights". Uprights are free floating on a through bolt in the receiver jig bottom rail, and line up precisely with TSMG receiver nose sides. Paper between jig "nose uprights" and TSMG receiver nose section, as well as between jaws of machinist's vice.

BARREL WRENCH ATTACHED

Barrel wrench attached to TSMG barrel. When wrench is turned clockwise (tightening barrel), slot in bottom of wrench clears grip mount.

TIGHTENING BARREL

Adjustable wrench is two feet long, weighs 12 pounds, and completely and securely tightens barrel to receiver. Note slot in bottom of barrel wrench to clear grip mount. There is absolutely no marring of grip mount finish when this wrench is used.
